Both my eyelids have puffed up and are painful?

My first guess would be an allergic reaction, even if you have never had one before. Rinsing them out and taking an antihistamine may help. My next guess would be an infection. If number one doesn't work go to an eye doc. You may need antibiotics, or you may have a tiny hair or other something in one or both eyes.
