Does smoking make you nervous (epilepsy)?

I use to have epilepsy. I am taking epilepsy pills. I take keppra 500mg to times a day. I smoke here and there. But lately when i smoke i get really nervous and my heart beats really fast. is this from smoking i smoke marlboro lights
